As I enter prayer now;
I pause to be still;

to re-centre my scattered senses upon the presence of God
No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,
I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

God called forth a people, and we responded to His call

As we built, brick by brick, we discovered the corner stone,

Now we have seen, and we have heard, that the Lord our God is great.
For a wilderness has been transformed, into His holy place.
Father God, give great courage and hope to Your people in Somalia who face such huge risks for following You. May their faith inspire the very people who are persecuting them. We pray for al-Shabaab to be pushed back and for peace to return to Somalia at last. Amen.
Jesus, as my light, illuminate and guide me.
As my shield, protect me.
