As I enter prayer now;
I pause to be still;

to re-centre my scattered senses upon the presence of God

“You are a witness to your own decision,” Joshua said. “You have chosen to serve the Lord.”

We have a little sister too young to have breasts. What will we do for our sister if someone asks to marry her? If she is a virgin, like a wall, we will protect her with a silver tower. But if she is promiscuous, like a swinging door, we will block her door with a cedar bar.
Song of Songs 8:8-9
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. Have patience with everything unresolved in your heart,

Do not search for the answers, which could not be given to you now,
because you would not be able to live them.
And the point is to live everything.
Live the questions now.
Perhaps then, someday far in the future,

without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.
God, we pray for Your people in Burkina Faso. We see how violence has impacted so many believers, and how even those who have escaped with their lives now live on the run. We ask You to provide; we ask You for peace; we ask You for strength for these brothers and sisters. Bring about renewal and healing, so that the church in Burkina Faso can grow and thrive to serve You with gladness and singleness of heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen
