Watchwords

Watchword for the week

Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.

Psalm 103:2

I thought, ‘Surely they will have reverence for me now! Surely they will listen to my warnings. Then I won’t need to strike again, destroying their homes.’ But no, they get up early to continue their evil deeds.

Zephaniah 3:7

Then Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people selling animals for sacrifices. He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.”

Luke 19:45-46

Prayer

Sovereign Lord, your justice is powerful and creative, beginning with each of us allowing your will to work its way in us. We sometimes make the mistake of believing that faithful action takes singular courage. What it takes is union with you and your reconciling purpose in the life of Jesus Christ. On this trust, we base our lives. Amen.
